New market segment, new format
Challenge
Following expansion of its production facility in Podolsk near Moscow, VMS-Print was looking for a half-format sheetfed offset press with UV drying specifically for printing on non-absorbent substrates. It was intended to produce packaging using metallised board, plastics and other similar materials. As the company had to date lacked the necessary equipment, the printing for such jobs was outsourced to partner companies. VMS-Print then took care of the post-press steps.
Solution
The press chosen was a Rapida 75 PRO. This was the first half-format press at the company, and at the same time the first purchase from Koenig & Bauer. As VMS-Print had no previous experience with the UV process, a special agreement on targeted technical support was reached with Koenig & Bauer. A trainer was placed at its side to pass on corresponding know-how in UV printing and to enable a smooth start to the production of such Jobs.

The range of technological possibilities has been expanded significantly, and the Rapida 75 PRO also enables more production steps to be handled by the company itself.
