Suitable consumables are a decisive prerequisite for optimum use of your Rapida sheetfed offset press. High-quality inks and coatings provide for brilliant print and finishing results.

The consumables which you require for different purposes must usually be obtained from a multitude of individual suppliers. To help you with your purchase decisions, we have tested the quality and performance of various products from renowned consumables suppliers in our customer demonstration centre.

The ideal products for use on your Rapida press are identified by the seal of quality “Recommended Product”.

Customers who use hubergroup inks recommended by Koenig & Bauer benefit from tested ink sys-tems specially optimised for fast Rapidas. Particular strengths of the recommended conventional inks include lower ink consumption, colour brilliance, high print contrast, smooth printing, good ink handling and solids printing.

We recommend the following ink series depending on the application

  • For straight printing: Rapida 250, Maxxima 250 mineral oil-based or Resista 250, Resista 260 vegetable oil-based
  • In perfecting mode: Maxxima 250 mineral oil-based or Resista 250, Resista 260 vegetable oil-based
  • For packaging printing: Rapida 250 mineral oil-based, Resista 250, Resista 260 vegetable oil-based
  • Especially for food packaging: MGA Natura and MGA Corona
  • As well as a number of special applications such as printing on non-absorbent substrates or Fast Work & Turn

Extensive technical and technological testing with UV-cured ink systems on all Rapida sheetfed offset press series showed that Toyo UV inks are the ideal complement to our presses when it comes to UV printing. This assessment applies equally for the use of highly reactive HR-UV and LED-UV inks.

Recommended ink series Flash Dry

On this basis, Koenig & Bauer recommends use of the Toyo Flash Dry ink series, especially for the innovative LED-UV process. Toyo inks are in successful use on all UV presses in the customer and training centres at KBA-Sheetfed.
